That was back in November 1999 when goals from Mark Yardley and Barry Lavety saw Saints see off Airdrie and Broomfield. Shuggy Murray was also sent off. Hopefully Basher will be starting tonight to try and get his fitness up and give us some presence up front. We could do with him scoring, though I'll take goals from anyone!
Paul McKnight is injured again, whilst Graham McWilliam, David Jack, Eddie Annand, Simon Lappin, Gus MacPherson and Kevin Twaddle are all still injured. Laurie Ellis isn't fully fit but will probably play. Whilst most fans want Basher to play, it is extremely unlikely he'll make the starting 11, so it will probably be the front two of Brian McGinty and Allan Russell again, with Ricky Gillies and John O'Neill pusing forward to support them. Russell's only league goals for Saints came against Clyde back in August, and it was also the game which saw Basher's competitive return to Love Street. Hopefully these omens mean another victory tonight, with Russell and Basher scoring.
Just a short preview today due to the fact the game is tonight :-) A match report may be up next week depending on a few things.
