Saints v Clyde Preview

Last updated : 02 January 2004 By Stuart Gillespie
Clyde will be without their player manager Alan Kernaghan, as he was sent off last week and is sitting out a suspension. Tsis is good for Saints as he was also missing when we beat Clyde back in August. To try and sort out their defensive problems they have brought in Stuart McCluskey, previously of St. Johnstone, although he did play as a trialist for Falkirk when they played us at Love Street in October.

Saints latest signing, player/assistant manager Andy Millen, will be properly listed for the first time, having played as a trialist last week. For his second game, he faces up to the club Saints signed him from just a few weeks ago. he did well against Ross County last week and will hopefully continue to perform well. Kevin Twaddle, Paul McKnight, David Jack, Graham McWilliam and Gus MacPherson are all out for one reason or another. Kirk Broadfoot may or may not be suspended. Hopefully Laurie Ellis will have shrugged off his knock, and we all hope Barry Lavety will be fit enough to start. He may not be in great form, or relatively match fit, but he'll do. A competent striker could have had a couple last week, and he's the closest we have at the moment he might finally get his first of the season for us.

We'll probably go with the same formation as last week, but hopefully this time we'll be able to hold out those extra few minutes if we have a one goal lead. I'm more confident than I have been for a while, so don't let me down Saints :-)
