We have Brian McGinty back from suspension (decide for yourselves if that's a good thing), whilst Robert Dunn should be fit enough for a return to the squad. Gus MacPherson is also getting nearer to fitness, and we could have Craig Hinchcliffe back, which is good news. However, Kevin Twaddle, Eddie Annand, Allan Russell, Laurie Ellis, David Jack and Graham McWilliam are all still missing with one problem or another. The returns of Dunn and McGinty could see one of them back in the starting lineup, however we need to keep Barry Lavety playing. That way we do at least have one proper striker.
Tomorrow will see Chris McGroarty's home debut after his arrival from Dunfermline last week. Hopefully he won't make the error he made against Brechin, costing us a goal.
The two games against Queen of the South this season have both been landmark games for Saints. The first one, which Saints lost 2-1 at Love Street, marked the beginning of the end of the John Coughlin era. The second, which Saints won 2-1 in Dumfries, saw Gus MacPherson's first game in charge as caretaker. Hopefully he can repeat the result tomorrow.
Queen of the South are rubbish to write about in previews. They have no former Saints, no big name players (like Andy Goram), and no wee annoying gits like Paul Hartley. Their fans claim they don't get enough credit for how they're doing but I'm ntso sure. I remember listening to the radio when they went top and Radio Scotland were so patronising (in my view) it was unbelievable.
Prediction for tomorrow? Would love to see us win, but I think it will be a draw.
