Last week's match against Raith Rovers should have been Gus's first game since being officially confirmed as manager, however it was called off with less than 90 minutes to go before the kick off. As a result, today is his managerial debut, though he won't be playing as he is still injured. Kevin Twaddle, Paul McKnight and David Jack are also missing, whilst Kirk Broadfoot is starting a suspension. The good news is that both John O'Neill and Mark Crilly are now availible, having both served three match bans, whilst Allan Russell and Kevin McGowne should be fit enough to play.
There is, however, a question mark over new signing Andy Millen. Millen arrived at the start of the week from Clyde to take up his role as player/assistant manager. Under last years transfer rules he wouldn't have been able to play until next week (when the window was opened). However, the rules have recently been changed to allow SFL clubs to sign players from other SFL clubs before the window opens. It is likely that Millen will be playing, but confirmation is being sought just to make sure.
Ross County are directly above Saints in the table, however are quite a distance ahead. A win today would help close the gap (with Saints having a game in hand) and might, just might, put us back in the title race.
