This time last week, the CIC appeared to be the only show in town. Then at the weekend it emerged Mr McGeoch and business partner Paul Davies (who, as we suggested, is indeed the chap who tried to buy Gretna three years ago) were also in the running to buy the 52 per cent controlling interest in the club that has been on the market for two years. Now it seems a third, mystery party wants a piece of the action.
Saints chairman Stewart Gilmour today confirmed there is interest fro Mr McGeoch - although bid has been made - and that has flushed out another bidder. Richard Atkinson, who is leading the 10000Hours bid, says it is 99 per cent of the way there and just needs one final hurdle to be cleared - but that's been the case for some time now.
