It would seem that if you're under 21 when the qualifying rounds start then you are OK to be included in the squad. If that's not the case, the SFA could be in a bit of trouble!

Of course, it's all irrelevant. For some reason, Smith rarely gets picked for the under-21s despite being a far more involved in first team duties than his rivals. Another spell on the bench probably awaits.
