On Monday night Saints finally ended their long winless streak when they put in a terrific performance to beat Falkirk 2-0. The Bairns were the last team we'd beaten on Boxing Day, so their right to be in the SPL has to be under question seeing as we've beaten them twice while they've only beaten us once.
A Stewart Kean penalty and a great team move that resulted in a Garry Brady goal were enough for a fully deserved victory. The performance was superb and must have left a few people wondering why we're in trouble. If we played like that more often then we'd be fine. Sadly, Dunfermline also won - but you can't have everything!
The stadium deal was finally confirmed after months of rumour and negotiation. Work is epxected to start on the new ground in June, ready for season 2008/09. Tesco have bought Love Street and will clear our debt in the process. Good news all round.
The only other news is that Kevin McGowne has been confirmed as Montrose's new player/assistant manager, linking up with old pal Jim Weir.
Finally, Mirren Mad should return to semi normal service next week when I get broadband installed in my flat.
