The news means that Saints will have managed to keep ahold of the same defence which has leaked few goals this season, assuming no one makes a bid for Kirk Broadfoot, whilst also managing to hold on to a good defensive midfielder.
It is unknown at present how long the contracts will last for, but with the increasing years of the pair it's possible these contracts will see them through until retirement.
