Ayr Raid For Dempsie?

Dempsie's contract is up in the summer, so it may be that Saints boss Gus MacPherson is looking for a bit of money for him just now, or a free spcae on his wage bill to bring in an extra player. However, a departure for Dempsie would leave Saints with no defensive cover other than young players, such as Brian Gordon and Graham McWilliam.
Dempsie arrived at Love Street in January 2003 after being released by Hibs. When playing Dempsie is a decent defender, but more often than not he is injured.
Ayr are also interested in former Saint Ian Ross, who has been told by Partick Thistle that he can leave.
