Bald was on trial at Love Street in the summer of 2002, having been released by Hibs. He looked good and was signed, making his debut in the last game of the season. Sadly we were thrashed 4-0 by Alloa! Billy then decided to quit football so he could study for a more secure profession. However, he played for Penicuik last season and picked up several player of the year awards.
Now, Billy could be set for a return to professional football as Cowdenbeath are tracking him. With a few other junior clubs also after him, it seems that his days at Penicuik are numbered. Perhaps the prospect of playing alongside Kevin Twaddle was a bit too scary!
