Barron, who is still a month away from playing due to injury, was one of the club's best players last season and is clearly someone Danny Lennon wants to keep ahold of. However, when he turned down the offer it looked as if his future lay elsewhere, with Lennon claiming Barron was being badly advised. Talks resumed, and it looks like an agreement could soon be reached.
Lennon said: "David's agent got in touch with the chairman this week so we're just looking to sit down and dot the Is and cross the Ts as it were.
"Davi has got a representative there and he wanted to follow the appropriate channels, but if it was up to him he would have signed it already."
Fingers crossed there is some good news soon as Barron is a fine player and will only get better in the next few years.
