Birchall Heading Back To Coventry

Birchall was brought to Love Street to play on the right wing, but has been out of the team for the last few games. While the quality of his crossing has been decent, there has been no sign of the long range efforts he seems to be famous for and there are also questions over his fitness.

The midfielder had struggled to get into the Coventry team under Iain Dowie and came north to get some first team action. Dowie has had Birchall's performances watched and the player believes he has done enough to challenge for a place when he returns to the Championship side after his loan deal comes to an end on January 2.

Personally, I'd been hoping Chris stayed with us until the end of the season as we'll now need to find another right winger. Hopefully, he'll force himself back into the team and put in some good performances before he loves.
