Apparently, the players received £1,000 a man for winning on Tuesday. According to the article in the Sunday Mail, this is £600 less than they received for beating Motherwell in the previous round. If true, this is rather odd. Why did the players receive less incentive to reach a cup final?
Of course, you could argue that the opportunity to play in a cup final should be incentive enough - and that the bonus issue should have been agreed before the semi-final, rather than after it.
You could also claim this is an attempt by the pro-Old Firm media to unsettle us, just as they did before last season's Scottish Cup semi-final with mythical stories about Andy Dorman going to Rangers.
