Brady is arguably one of the most skillful players at the club and he has plenty of experience, having played for Spurs and Newcastle earlier in his career. However, it's fair to say fitness is something the 33-year-old needs to work on. He can rarely go through 90 minutes these days and arguably isn't up to SPL level anymore, and it's for that reason I'm surprised he's been kept while Stephen O'Donnell was released.
On the plus side, Saints boss Danny Lennon has told Brady he must work to improve his fitness ahead of the new season, although you wonder why Gus MacPherson didn't tell him to do the same - or why the player didn't take it upon himself to do so. Lennon has also told the midfield man to help pass on his experience to the younger members of the squad.
The futures of Steven Robb and Allan Johnston are still to be resolved, but there could be news on Robb later this week - although the midfielder is apparently wanted by former club Dundee.
Meanwhile, it looks like Iain Jenkins won't move from Cowdenbeath to become Lennon's assistant until the start of next month as there are still issue's with Andy Millen's compensation.
