The story comes from The Scottish Sun. When the incident took place is not mentioned, but I'd assume it happened fairly recently.
Apparently two men, Joseph Roney, who has suffered four heart attacks, and his son Thomas, had been watching junior side Drongan, when they were assaulted by three men, one apparently Broadfoot. Relatives of Broadfoot claims he was provoked and: "was just looking after himself."
Saints boss John Coughlin claimed Broadfoot has informed him that the event shouldn't have happened and won't happen again, whilst Strathclyde Police say three men are at the centre of a probe on the incident.
Broadfoot is the fourth Saints player who I can remember being in the papers for a non footballing reason. Frank McAvennie is famous for them, whilst Barry Lavety has appeared twice, once to do with drug taking and once to do with standing a roundabout topless and smashing car lights with his belt. Junior Mendes also appeared 5 years ago for something I can't quite remember, possibly to do with leaving his wife.
Talking of bust ups, the Raith goalie, whoever he is, has apologised to the club for an altercation involving him and Gus MacPherson after Tuesday nights game.
