The deal, as I'm sure you're aware, was announced yesterday and Broadfoot will move to Ibrox in the summer. As he is under 24, some sort of compensation - believed to be in the region of £80,000 - will need to be paid by Rangers. Sadly, Hibs get 5% of this.
Since the move was announced, Kirk has come out publicly and said he will give his all for Saints until the end of the season as he'd hate to leave us having been part of a side that was relegated. Hopefully, this will stop the fans getting on his back - although it will be interesting to see what happens when we play his future club on April 8!
Broadfoot has done well for Saints over the past few years, and is a great player for someone like us. However, I have my doubts that he - as well as Allan Gow of Falkirk, who has signed a similar deal with Rangers - is good enough at present.
Mind you, I probably said the same thing about Charlie Adam this time last year!
