Whilst no one is doubting that Kirk has done well this year, he probably hasn't been Saints best performer over the season. he also missed two months or so of the season with injury, something that should surely rule anyone out of an award based on performances over the season!
Nonetheless, he has been nominated and is the only Saints player to make the shortlist. The other four nominees are: St. Johnstone's Jason Scotland, Tom Brighton of Clyde, John Rankin of Ross County and Hamilton's Alex Neill.
