The compensation will hopefully not be too much, although it will probably be at least £20,000, possibly a fair bit more. It also means money to everyone's favourite chairman, Pearse Flynn.
Brittain was apparently one of Livingston's better players last season and was their captain. He scored five goals during his time at Livingston and also scored against Saints whilst on loan at Raith Rovers.
The right sided midfielder is just 22 years old but already has a fair bit of SPL experience. He flew out with the rest of the squad today for the week long training camp in Austria.
With Brittain and Garry Brady signed up over the past few weeks, it is unlikely that Saints will move for another midfielder, be they Charlie Adam, John Rankin or someone else.
