Queens boss Kenny Brannigan revealed a few weeks ago that Saints and Motherwell were in for Burns, who has spent his entire career at the Palmerston club. Now his agent, Jim Harkins, has said he is likely to join either Saints or Morton.
Burns - who scored for Queens in the 2008 Scottish Cup semi-final - has spent his nine year first team career in the first division, so may fancy testing himself in the SPL. However, Morton's wealthy backer may mean they're able to offer bigger wages, which could prove more appealing.
Burns' agent has also said the player will be leaving Queens after failing to agree a new contract.
