Campbell - who turns 19 on Wednesday - was a target for Saints during the summer but eventually had an unsuccessful loan spell at Carlisle instead. However, he has now arrived at the club and joined in training yesterday. If international clearance comes through he'll be available for the game during the week, which comes a day after the transfer window opens.
Campbell, who'll be with us on loan until the end of the season, is highly rated at Newcastle and has made a few appearances for their first team. He's also represented England at youth level and can play up front or out wide, with plenty of pace and a willingness to run at people.
Hopefully he turns out to be as good for us as Paul Dummet and Conor Newton were when we borrowed them - and hopefully we can extend the latter's loan deal so he can keep Campbell company until the summer.
