Coughlin Worse Than Fitzpatrick!

Using the trusty Soccerbase website, I have discovered the following.

Tony Fitzpatrick returned to the Saints hotseat in August 1996 and was there until December 1998 when he was sacked. During that time he was in charge for 99 matches, winning 37 of them, losing 42 and drawing 20. Effectively he won as many as he lost (give or take a few) and managed one win for every 2.7 matches and a defeat once every 2.4 games

John Coughlin took over in September 2002 and since then we have played 54 games. We have won 13, lost 24 and drawn 17. This means we have managed a victory once every 4.2 games and a defeat once every 2.25 games. Therefor we can come to the conclusion that victories were easier to come by under Fitzpatrick, and defeats were slightly rarer.

Coughlin's 13 victories haven't exactly been convincing either. Below are the teams we have beaten under Coughlin:

Alloa Athletic
Arbroath (twice)
Ayr United (twice)
Berwick Rangers
Clyde
Morton
Queen of the South (twice)
Queens Park
Raith Rovers
Ross County

Of those, Alloa was down to a dodgy penalty and Arbroath was thanks to Ludo saving a last minute penalty. Morton, Berwick and Queens Park were all cup games against lower league oposition, and twice we needed extra time to see them off.

Proof, if it were needed, that John Coughlin is useless and should be sacked immediately. If it weren't for the fact that the club couldn't afford to pay him off, he surely wouldn't have got the job in the summer.
