This will be the first time the BBC have shown a game live from new St. Mirren Park, and to be honest I can't remember the last time they screened one of our games live. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the cup final in 1987.
Although Sky pay out more than £80,000 to the clubs involved when they show a Scottish Cup tie live, it's not known how much the BBC pay. They only have rights to one game before the final, so perhaps the lower number of games means they still have to pay the same rate.
Let's hope the extra income will lead to a few signings before the end of the month.
