It seems that over the past week or so Saints made an offer for Ayr United's highly rated striker Stewart Kean. St. Johnstone had tried to sign him a few months ago, however Kean decided to stay with the second division side as he wanted to remain in Ayr. Over the last week, Ayr have hit financial problems, and Kean has allegedly offered to go to reduce the debt. the Real Saints made an offer for his services, rumoured to be in the region of £10,000, which was quickly knocked back by the Honest Men. A move to Love Street would, of course, allow Kean to stay in Ayr, but it now looks like the deal is dead.
Kean could be the player that's rumoured to be coming in, but I seriously doubt it. The alleged new arrival is currently with a club, which rules out Alan Reid who has been on trial at Love Street for the past few weeks. Hopefully it's a striker as we could really do with one now that Eddie Annand has left us for Dumbarton.
The player out will almost certainly be Mark Crilly. The midfielder handed in a transfer request a few weeks ago and has been rumoured with a return to old club Stirling Albion. Whether it will be a permanent move or a loan deal is unknown.
More news when we get it.
