Dempsie Signs

The news comes from The Official Site. I wasn't sure of playing a trialist in defence was a good idea after the fun Tom Hendrie had with them, however it seemed to work as Dempsie had a good game alongside Denham. He had previously been with Hibs, and has had a few injuries but is over them now.

What I don't understand is the lenght of the contract. Most, if not all, of our players are contracted until the end of this season, yet Dempsie will be with us until the end of next season, 2003/04. Obviously Saints boss John Coughlin feels he is a very good player, and he is still relatively young as he is in his early twenties.

Like other recent signing Ally Mitchell, Dempsie can't play against Celtic on Saturday as he was signed after the Scottish Cup deadline. With Andy Dow set to leave this week, will Dempsie be the last signing?
