Yesterday we suggested that 10000Hours' delay in sending out the forms may have been linked to them asking the current board for more time, however this now seems not to be the case. The group is looking for 300 supporters, as well as 12 businesses and 24 community groups to pledge their support and help fund the purchase of a 52 per cent controlling interest in the club. Sign ups are still being taken at http://www.10000hours.org/
With over 700 supporters pledging to take individual members, now comes time for them to show their firm commitment by filling in and returning their direct debit forms, although no money will be taken until the deal is finalised.
10000Hours have also released some details of their progress. Apparently they had bid in to eight funders and are now waiitng on responses from two of them (there is no indiciation as to what the response has been from the other six). If the response from the two is favourable, the takeover will go ahead. They are hopeful of receiving an answer next month.
