Ross has been looking for a new club for the past few weeks, having been released by Partick Thistle just before Christmas. He was previously linked with moves to Ayr United and Stirling Albion, but decided to sign for Alloa, where he links up with his former Saints boss (as well as school team coach) Tom Hendrie. Ross is the second ex Saint to sign for Alloa this week, joining Jose Quitongo, whilst fellow title winning winger Iain Nicolson was already there.
Yardley has been told to leave Albion after they decided they would no longer have part time players at the club. This was a double blow for the big striker, coming less than an hour after he found out that his manager, former Falkirk diver Kevin McAllister, was leaving. Yards will be leaving, but whether it will be during the transfer window or at the end of the season is unknown as he is reluctant to leave. One option could be to move to the juniors, as apparently there has been interest in him in the past.
Both players were vital parts of the title winning season so it is good to see ian finding a new club. Hopefully Mark will get one soon as well.
