This isn't an in-depth review of every one of our former players, just a brief glimpse at how some are getting on.
The most high profile of our former players at the moment is Charlie Adam, who is currently starring for Blackpool in the English Premiership. The midfielder captained the side to promotion last season and has adapted with ease to top flight football - although he has been involved in a bonus row with the club. If he keeps up his form, a move elsewhere surely beckons.
Dropping down from the Premiership over the summer was striker Chris Iwelumo. After an unsuccessful time with Wolves last season, he moved to recently relegated Burnley and has banged in nine goals for his new club so far. Also moving to the Championship in the close season was Andy Dorman, however he's not had the best of times at Crystal Palace and has scored just once, resulting in him being dropped. Stephen McGinn is faring better at Watford and has scored a couple of goals.
Another regular starter in the Championship is Simon Lappin, who seems to be playing most weeks for Norwich. The Canaries won promotion last season under Paul Lambert and are now in with a chance of being promoted to the Premiership. Nottingham Forest, managed by Billy Davies, are just a few points behind.
Dropping down a league, Graham Carey is currently on loan at Huddersfield and is doing well. He's scored three goals and the club are in the play-off picture. In the same division, Scott Cuthbert has been a regular for struggling Wycombe, while a league below Will Haining has barely featured for a poor Morecambe side.
In Scotland, Kirk Broadfoot had been a regular for Rangers but has recently had problems with injuries. Mark Howard moved to Aberdeen in the summer but has had a bit of a nightmare - although he wasn't in goals when they lost 9-0 to Celtic! With Mark McGhee being sacked this week, Neil Cooper is part of the management team. Mixu Paatelainen took over at Kilmarnock during the summer and has had them playing some good football that has also generated effective results.
Notable in the SFL is Allan Johnston, who has helped Queen of the South reach the Challenge Cup Final when he's not injured, where he will face a Ross County side featuring Richard Brittain and Paul Lawson. Dennis Wyness has been in decent form for Peterhead, although the same can't really be said of Stewart Kean at Morton. Paul McHale has had even worse luck as he was one of a number of players made redundant by Dundee when they entered administration.
John O'Neill is currently managing Stirling Albion, but they are bottom of the first division. John Coughlin's Stenhousemuir are third bottom of the second division and Gardner Speirs' Queen's Park are second bottom of the third.
Further afield, Ian Ferguson is currently managing Perth Glory in Australia and has Steven McGarry in his side. Billy Mehmet has only scored twice since his move to Turkish side Gençlerbirliği.
There is also a former manager who goes by the name of Sir Alex Ferguson, whose side Manchester United are currently top of the Premiership and only suffered their first defeat of the season on Tuesday night.
Hopefully that's given you a flavour of what some of our former players are up to, hopefully there will be another update in a few months.
