The 32-year-old, who has played for Cameroon in both the World Cup and African Cup of Nations, was linked with a move to the club this morning. It looked like a hoax but, incredibly, turned out to be true.
Djemba-Djemba, who will wear 99, is arguably one of the highest profile signings in the club's history. The likes of Victor and Steve Archibald were probably bigger names, but after that Djemba-Djemba has to be right up there.
Eric signed for Manchester United in 2003 before going on to play for Aston Villa, Burnley and clubs in Denmark, Qatar and Israel. He didn't play much for Partizan before they released him so is probably pretty short of match fitness, although is likely to be involved in Sunday's game at Dundee United.
We desperately need a centre half, but this will at the very least give us cover and competition for Jim Goodwin.
