Obviously the first of these results is for St. Mirren to beat Arbroath. Our recent away form is not good, however with John Hillcoat in fine form we could be due for a change in luck. Unfortunately Jamie McGowan looks to be out for the rest of the season, along with Paul McKnight. Tommy Turner, Brian McGinty and Mark Yardley all have knocks ahead of the game, but Ian Ross and Gary Bowman should return. Liam Keogh is out, while trialist Lee Curran has gone back to Dundee United.
The second result would be for Ross County to win against Falkirk. Ross County are unbeaten in 11, and when I was on holiday in the Hightlands recently, the news teams said promotion was looking unlikely as they were 15 points behind with 5 games left! Talk about stating the obvious. Falkirk are in poor form at the moment, so I don't see them being the ones to stop County's good run. If Falkirk lose, and we win, the gap is 8 points with 3 games left. it would almost, ALMOST, be safe to say we are safe.
Partick Thistle wrapping up the league is something else I'd quite like today. They travel to Broomfield to face Airdrie and if Thistle win, they are champions. This would be excellent for Saints who play Thistle next week! Hopefully, with the title already in the bag they wouldn't be too bothered, and we could take three points and our survival.
The final result I'd love today would be for Motherwell not to lose to St. Johnstone. If that happened, the Perth Scum are officially down. After their little tricks against Dundee United last season, nothing would give me greater pleasure than seeing them go down. The funny thing is, Motherwell's Martyn Corrigan said something along the lines of "While it would be a shame to see them go down, we aren't going to go easy on them just because of the position they are in. We wouldn't expect them to do the same if we were in their position."
Seems Mr. Corrigan needs to have a look at St. Johnstone v Dundee United from last season :)
