After a meeting on Friday, it appeared that the game was to be moved from the 3,000 capacity venue due to safety reasons. No new venue was set, and a lot of the papers and Spartans officials seemed more than willing to lay the blame at Saints door. It now turns out this was not the case, and tomorrow Mirren Mad will compare what the tabloids claim happened with what Saints claim happen. You decide what the truth is.
Saints vice chairman George Campbell yesterday expressed his anger at the way Saints had been protrayed in the press, saying that the club were more than happy to play at City Park and it was the police that had forced the move.
After another meeting today, it seems that Spartans have been able to assure the police that there will be no trouble after all, and the game will now be played at their City Park ground.
Saints have now been allocated 1,000 tickets for the game, instead of the previous figure of around 700. They will go on sale to season ticket holders on the morning of the Ross County match on 28th January.
Finally this farce is over, and the game will go ahead where it should.
