The 39-year-old, who also played for Partick Thistle, Dundee United and Clydebank during his career, was sacked by Morton at the end of last season. However, he had no problems finding the net when he was a player and so Saints boss Danny Lennon decided to get him to give some coaching to the likes of Michael Higdon and Gareth Wardlaw. It's a good move as a striker coach is something many fans feel the previous management team should have brought in.
Grady is from Paisley and was close to signing for the club on at least two occasions during his career but decided to go elsewhere for various reasons (probably money). He also has a love/hate relationship with the fans, partly for a shocking tackle on club legend Norrie McWhirter during the 1990s, but everyone can see this move makes sense.
