The fullback hasn't featured much in recent weeks, with youngster Sean Kelly being preferred at leftback since Grainger was sent off at Easter Road in September. However, he was still handy have to have for cover and losing him leaves Kelly and the even more inexperienced Mo Yaqub as our only natural leftbacks.
Grainger arrived in the summer after a spell at Hearts, winning a contract after proving his fitness during a trial spell. It seemed a good signing but, for whatever reason, hasn't worked out and he has now been linked with a move to League One side Dunfermline.
Fingers crossed that there is more transfer news to come out of Greenhill Road today and it involves players signing for us rather than leaving.
