Haining exits Saints

This has been rumoured on websites for some time but it is still a bit of a surprise he has been let go. In his first season he was superb for us, while last year was a bit of a mixed bag in among the injuries. However, it should be noted that our only two league wins in 2009 came when he was playing instead of club captain John Potter - and he was also in the defence when we beat Rangers and Celtic during the course of the season.
It seems Haining has known for some time that he would not be staying and it is very disappointing, as while he wasn't the tallest person he was a pretty commanding figure in the backline. He was recently linked with a return to Oldham and a move down south looks a good bet.
Most frustratingly, it now means his wife - glamour model Michelle Marsh - will no longer be at our games!
