Haining set for summer departure

Reports today suggest that a number of Championship and League One sides are after Haining's services. While he's a decent defender, it's debatable whether he's good enough for the Championship - and a move to League One would leave him in the same league he left two years ago.

There have been rumours for some time that haining has turned down a new contract and it would seem these may be true. There are even stories that his house has been up for sale for some time and his wife, glamour model Michelle Marsh, has failed to settle in the area.

Haining has been a solid performer during his time with Saints, although his performances have slipped a bit this season and he's suffered a few injury problems. If he does leave, it will leave us desperately short in defence - especially if Scott Cuthbert returns to Celtic at the end of his loan deal.
