Hendrie Almost Definitely Gone

This morning it was announced Tom Hendrie was asked to take leave of his duties, despite the fact it was announced yesterday he was going nowhere. Now there is more evidence which suggests Hendrie has been sacked, and that he was asked to take leave so he couldn't mess about with a team he was about to leave.

Both the BBC and Evening Times websites suggest that Hendrie has been offered a deal which would see the rest of his contract fully paid up, a move which would cost Saints somwhere in the region of £120,000. Amazingly, Hendrie has rejected this offer which would see him paid what he was due over the next 2 and a half years in a day, and allow him to earn more doing another job. An announcement on some sort of compensaton deal will probably be announced next week.

The Evening Times article also carries quotes from a love Street insider who says that since the fans started leaving before half time on Saturday, the board have been trying to get rid of him. It also lists John McCormack, Sandy Clark, Campbell Money and John Connolly as the front runners for the job.
