Hinchcliffe has been in superb form since arriving from Arbroath in the summer. He had featured in every game until Christmas time, at which point he picked up an injury and was replaced by Stevie Woods. He hasn't been able to win his place back, which is odd as Woods hasn't been great. Hopefully this news will see Hinchy return to the first team.
He said: "It's great to sign a new deal. The club thought I did enough during the first part of the season to merit an extension, so that's nice. It's a big club, with big expectations and they have a large following as well. There was no reason for me to look elsewhere. The aim is to get back into the Premier League but we have to make sure we get enough points this season to get to safety. That's our main priority at the moment."
There is, however, some bad news on the contract front as there are reports that former Hibs duo Kirk Broadfoot and Mark Dempsie have rejected new contracts and will leave Love Street in the summer.
