Saints boss Danny Lennon revealed after yesterday's draw at Motherwell that a leftbank from overseas was arriving so he could be looked at ahead of the transfer window closing at the end of the week.
We've had a number of foreign leftbacks in recent years, including Jeroen Tesselaar and Mo Camara, but the common consensus is that this is the return of either Travner or Franco Miranda.
Travner has worked with Lennon before, having come to the club on loan from Watford two years ago before leaving when his contract expired. The Slovenian is currently contracted to Mura 05 in his homeland, but it seems their financial difficulties may mean he can leave for free. Taking him on trial is odd considering Lennon knows what he can do - but it may just be an attempt to see how fit he is.
Miranda had two seasons with Saints between 2007 and 2009 so hasn't worked with the current management team. The Argentinian fullback is also playing for a club back home so it's unlikely he'd be available, but there is still some speculation we could be after him.
Either would be a decent signing - but there's no official word the mystery player is a former Saint!
