News of Hinchcliffe's departure was made public earlier this week, with the former Abroath shot stopper declining the offer of a new contract as he wanted more first team football. He should get that at Firhill, where he will link up with Ian McCall - who was in charge of Queen of the South when Hinchy was on loan with the Dumfries club earlier this season.

Morton and the Doonhamers were also interested, but he's decided to stay in the Glasgow area.
