Norwich made an offer for Lappin over the weekend, but it was rejected by Saints as Saints chairman Stewart Gilmour felt it was not enough and Saints weren't desperate to sell.
However, there has been progress since then and it looks as if Norwich have come back with an improved offer, which Saints have accepted. It is believed their original offer of £50,000 has been raised to £75,000. Quite why we've accepted such a low amount for a player with 18 months left on his contract is anyone's guess.
If Lappin does move, it would take away some of the feel good factor created by the arrivals of Eddie Malone and Stephen O'Donnell today. Whether a replacement for Lappin could be found before the end of tomorrow is anyone's guess.
