Lennon said: "We feel that people have written us off even before a ball was kicked.
"We don't want players having a look and psychologically seeing that they are down there. A lot of journalists are not giving us a chance, but it is still early days and the table is still trying to sort itself out.
"Basically, the players can pick up the vibes and take it negatively, so you have got to be strong. They probably read them all when they are out of here. But, when they are in this environment, the only thing I want myself surrounded with is positivity."
Lennon is not the first manager to take this step, and probably won't be the last, but it's still a bit of a strange move - especially this early in the season. Sure, the papers haven't exactly been heaping us with praise, but that could be used to get the players fired up.
