Hibs have been after a new manager since finally binning Colin Calderwood last week and a number of people have been linked with the job. Lennon, who started his playing career at Easter Road, didn't seem to be among them.
That seemed to change over the weekend when he was spotted at Easter Road, although he claims he was there to see a match rather than talk about the job and would like to stay at Greenhill Road.
He said: "I deny 100 per cent any suggestion that I have been interviewed by Hibs. I am committed to St Mirren and have a big job to do at Paisley. I have not spoken at all to Hibs. In fact, I am in talks about extending my deal at Saints."
Saints chairman Stewart Gilmour has also denied there has been contact - although it's worth noting Lennon doesn't say he's not interested, just that he hasn't been interviewed. Considering he said the other week he wanted a new contract but talks hadn't begun, it doesn't exactly harm his negotiating position if he's linked with another club.
Lennon has done pretty well this season, introducing a new, more attractive brand of football with the club currently sitting in sixth place. There have been a few blunders, such as the League Cup defeat to Ayr, but it's fair to say losing him at this stage of the season would do more harm than good.
