Loan stars to return?

Last updated : 23 May 2011 By Stuart Gillespie

McGowan's spell with us was last season, when he was here for the duration of the campaign and played just about every week. When he was good, he was very good but was rather frustrating at times.

Carey was with us for six months in 2010 and could take a superb free-kick - scoring two of them - and had a terrific crossing and dribbling ability. He spent the first six months of the season at Huddersfield before returning to Parkhead to sit on his hands.

Both are under contract for another year but it seems Danny Lennon is keen to sign the pair permanently. Media reports suggests there is every chance of that happening with McGowan, but reckons a deal for Carey is unlikely. There's no mention of whether another loan bid would be knocked back.

Signing both would be terrific but unrealistic and if McGowan's the only one we get I'll be more than happy.

Steven Thompson is also menti... ach, sod it, you've all heard enough about that one by now!
