Mair seems to be a bit injury prone - which is probably why we're being linked with him. From memory, he seems to be someone who can play anywhere across the back, and it's that sort of versatility manager Gus MacPherson likes. However, I'd rather we went for someone who was good in one position, rather than decent in several. We could also do with some taller defenders - Mair is only six foot.
In theory, he's the sort of player we should be after - plenty of SPL experience and he's been at clubs like Aberdeen and Dundee United. However, his injury proneness is a bit of a worry - look at what's happened with Craig Dargo and Steven Robb during their time at the club.
