The story appears in the PDE. McAnespie's trial period started around the same time as Martin Baker's, and whilst Baker has had success as he has signed until the end of the season, McAnespie has been unable to win a deal.
McAnespie has previously played at Aberdeen, Raith Rovers, Bolton and Fulham and I feel he would have fitted in well on the right side of defence in John Coughlin's new 4-4-2 formation. Sadly, he has been told he cannot be signed unless a player leaves.
Strangely, the PDE story reports that Baker giled the last slot on the wage bill. Have Stewart Gilmour and John Coughlin not said for weeks we have no space on the wage bill?
