The midfielder made his debut as a sub in the 5-0 defeat to Celtic before starting against Dundee and Ross County in the last week, impressing in each game. The club were quick to tie Kenny McLean down to a long term deal after he broke into the team and have now done the same with McGinn.
It's an excellent move as the coaching staff at Greenhill Road have high hopes for the midfielder, who will surely be in the next Scotland under-19 squad. He has done well so far and if he keeps going like this then he could follow his brother Stephen by swapping Saints for a club in the Championship.
His other brother Paul will return to the club in January when his loan at Queen's Park finishes. Anyone know if there is a fourth member of the McGinn clan we can sign?
