McQuade was one of the numerous summer arrivals from Cowdenbeath and seemed to have a decent pre-season, scoring a few goals. However, he then got injured and was out for a few months and has never really caught the eye of manager Danny Lennon.
The one game he did start was at Peterhead in the Scottish Cup and he scored twice. OK, so it was against a second division side but it was two more goals than the rest of the team had scored in the original game between the sides.
McQuade's movement and pace made me feel he could offer us something, especially as a substitute, so it's a shame to see this happen. However, there have been suggestions he hasn't adapted properly to full-time football so hopefully his move to the Loons will help him remember the downsides of being part-time.
McQuade is the second Buddie to be loaned out this week but unlike Jamie McCluskey - who joined Clyde on Tuesday - he has another year left on his contract.
