The midfielder only joined Saints in the summer, having captained the Blue Brazil to the second division title last season. He struggled to establish himself in the side but began making his mark just before Christmas, scoring a cracking goal against Brechin in the Scottish Cup and setting up Steven Thompson's opener against Motherwell.
It's a strange move as it's not as if Robertson needs first team experience and he started against Ross County less than a fortnight ago. Perhaps he is now surplus to requirements with Kenny McLean back fit, Conor Newton arriving and the likes of John McGinn, Jim Goodwin and Paul McGowan capable of playing in the middle of the park.
Robertson's deal is for a month initially but the first division outfit have the option to extend that if they wish.
