It was no surprise that Millen followed MacPherson out the door as the pair were always a team. However, most people expected them to link up again when Gus got a new job - or for Andy to go into management himself. For him to take another assistant's job without Gus is a bit of a surprise - although he is a former team-mate of Hamilton boss Billy Reid and worked with him at Clyde.
Millen was a player and assistant during his six and a half years at Saints and is the oldest player ever to appear in a competitive game for the club. During his time in Paisley, he was a member of the side that won the League Challenge Cup and the first division title during the 2005/06 season.
