The midfielder became the oldest ever outfield SPL player back in August when he passed the record set by current Falkirk manager. Leighton had been 41 years and 302 when he made his last appearance for Aberdeen in May 2000.
At 41 years and 329 days, the Saints midfielder is the new record holder and is believed to be the oldest ever outfield player since the Premier Division was formed in the 1970s. However, the oldest ever player in the league was John Burridge, who turned out for Falkirk when he was approaching his 43rd birthday - so Andy has a long way to go yet!
There were probably a few folk worried when they saw Andy in Saturday's team, but it seemed to work and he helped to create the first goal. Chances are he will push the record slightly higher before the end of the season.
Well done Andy!
