Reports tonight on BBC Scotland suggest he, not Jure Travner, is the foreign leftback Saints boss Danny Lennon was planning to take on trial this week. However, Chick Young claims things have now gone further than that and says the Argentinian defender will sign tomorrow if he passes a medical.
The former River Plate man was a popular figure with the Saints support during his first spell at the club between 2007 and 2009, which was before Lennon took over. Both those times he was only on loan from Argentinian side CAI and his second season was cut short by injury. If he is indeed coming back hopefully this time around it's on a permanent contract.
Miranda seemed to be a bit too attack minded to be a fullback but not quite enough to play permanently in midfield. However, if he can produce the same sort of performances he did first time around he should be a decent acquisition.
Franco currently plays for Patronato in the equivalent of the Argentinian Second Division - according to Wikipedia at least.
In other defensive news, former Queens Park fullback Paul McGinn - brother of current Saint John and ex Saint Stephen - is training with the club. He's also been attracting interest from Aberdeen and Motherwell.
